Here is the service presented at the River Road Unitarian Universalist Congregation on December 3, 2017.
Here is the powerful service presented at the Ceder Lane Unitarian Universalist Church on July 16, 2017.
A worship service was presented on May 28, 2017 at Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Raleigh. Speakers from the congregation shared their personal reflections to the stories in the book, as well as two of the contributors from the congregation (Mike and Yuri) shared their stories today.
Latoya, Mike and Yuri presented a worship service based on our book project at Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Raleigh on January 10, 2016. Because the book title at that time was When a Chocolate Chip Finds a Sugar Cookie Home: Stories of Unitarian Universalists of Color, the service title was When a Chocolate Chip Finds a Sugar Cookie Home. Later we heard legitimate concerns about the title, so the book title has been changed to Unitarian Universalists of Color: Stories of Struggle, Courage, Love and Faith.
The service featured a recorded excerpt by Takiyah and Colorful Conversations in which Latoya, Mike and Yuri discussed their experiences as people of color.
We want to bring worship services based on our project to your congregations. We will work with you to create a unique service. We also offer a facilitated discussion session. Please contact us!
