Welcome to Unitarian Universalists of Color Story Project! This website is dedicated to lift up stories of Unitarian Universalists of color.

We started this project in late 2013 when Tim suggested to write a book to the Unitarian Universalists of color Google Group. Since then, Yuri, Chandra and Tim went out to find people who were willing to share their stories, organized a panel workshop at the Unitarian Universalist Association’s General Assembly in 2015, and raised funds through Faithify and Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Raleigh. The book was finally published on April 10, 2017. There was a book launch workshop at the UUA General Assembly in New Orleans in 2017.

Our project was featured in the Church of Larger Fellowship VUU talk show on April 27, 2017. Yuri, Chandra and Mike were guest speakers. Watch the show.

Our project is not over. Worship services have been presented on the project at Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Raleigh and other congregations. After the first service, Colorful Conversations on race has been meeting monthly. There have been book discussions at various Unitarian Universalist congregations. Please contact us if you are interested in starting discussions or have one of the contributors come to your congregation.

This site will continue to evolve. Please visit often.

We welcome you to read about people who shared their stories in the book and more stories of Unitarian Universalists of color. If you are interested in sending your story to be featured, please contact us.
